BDA Leadership

DONALD E. JAKEWAY
President & CEO, Donald E. Jakeway, is responsible for the strategic leadership for the Brooks Development Authority (BDA) and Brooks City-Base Foundation by working with the Board of Directors and the Leadership Team to establish long-range goals, strategies, plans and policies. Don previously led the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC), a $100 million public/private partnership. He served as a state of Ohio cabinet member as Director of the Ohio Department of Development (ODOD). This $1.5 billion agency was named one of the 'top ten economic development agencies in the world' for two straight years by Site Selection Magazine. Don serves on the Board of Directors of the International Economic Development Council (IEDC) and was awarded the 'Lifetime Leadership Award' for Public Service. He also serves on the Board of Directors of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, located in Canton, Ohio and was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. He is also the President of the Churchill Centre South Texas, a chapter of the Churchill Centre & Churchill Museum - Cabinet War Rooms - London.
