
Director of Facilities and Infrastructure, John C. “Mac” McCarthy, is responsible for management and direction of facilities and infrastructure support at Brooks City-Base, including property management, communications, and environmental programs. He also represents the CEO and BDA Board of Directors with Department of Defense organizations based locally and at the Federal level and as liaison to organizations of interest to BDA, such as the Association of Defense Communities (ADC) and the San Antonio Military Transformation Task Force. In September 2011, he retired from the Federal government after 34 years civilian service in both legislative and executive branch agencies. Prior to his retirement, he was Deputy Director for Base Operating Support (BOS), 311th Air Base Group, Brooks City-Base, Texas. He provided guidance, directions and leadership for force support, logistics, communications, personnel and services functions that supported military and civilian personnel.
